Efficient Stoves Change Lives – From the Daily Routine to System Change |
|
Hello ,
Did you know that almost a third of the world’s population prepare their meals on an open fire?
My project visits really brought home to me the impact this has. The health risks from smoke are enormous and the increasing deforestation caused by the high wood consumption is alarming. Women and children who spend hours collecting wood and cooking in smoke-filled rooms are particularly affected.
A tried-and-tested solution is the use of efficient stoves. This shows how holistic climate protection can work. For example, with our project in Madagascar. What began as a climate protection project is now a driver of comprehensive change. The stoves reduce CO₂, improve living conditions, protect the forests and open up new perspectives.
Read the interview with Luc Estapé, Managing Director of our project partner ADES, to find out how the “green stove” has become a symbol of sustainability in Madagascar over two decades, contributing not only to better living conditions but also to genuine system change.
The measurability of climate protection projects is the subject of heated debate time and time again. Innovative solutions, such as the use of GSM technology in our new project in Nepal, create transparency. With these modern e-cooking systems, SIM cards are built into the stoves, enabling continuous monitoring of stove usage.
All our stove projects have a positive impact on the lives of the local population. This is also responsible for shaping a positive future. The strength of effective projects lies in the involvement of the people.
I wish you an inspiring read.

How Efficient Stoves are Changing Madagascar
|
|
What began as a climate protection project is now a driver of comprehensive change. Madagascar is showing how a simple stove not only reduces CO₂ but also improves living conditions, protects forests and opens up new perspectives. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of ADES, we spoke with Managing Director Luc Estapé about the development of the project, challenges on site and his vision for the future.

Clean Cooking Solutions with Digital Monitoring in Nepal
|
|
What happens when modern technology meets long-standing cooking traditions? In Nepal, new electric stoves not only facilitate clean cooking but also improve health, save time and protect the forest. Digital monitoring shows how each use protects the climate. Find out here exactly how this works and why it sets global standards.
