Towards Net Zero with New Energy – Florian Goppel and Pascal Wieser on their plans for myclimate |
Hello ,
At the end of last year, we took on the management of myclimate as co-CEOs. A position we fulfil with great joy, respect and commitment. We would be delighted to tell you more about ourselves and take you on a journey with us.
In this major interview, you’ll find out how we are continuing to develop myclimate, supporting customers on their path towards net zero and about the opportunities and challenges we see in the voluntary carbon market. We also discuss our personal motivation, our understanding of modern management and why values and attitudes are important to us.
Together with the entire team, we are shaping the future of myclimate and thinking even more consistently about how we can contribute to a future-proof economy and society in 2026. We would like to thank you for placing your trust in us. We look forward to continuing to travel this path together with you.

Why net zero requires more than just reduction
|
The goal of greenhouse gas neutrality is more than just phasing out fossil fuels or not letting emissions expand. It means net zero: drastic reduction and CO₂ removals equivalent to the remaining emissions. Alongside reducing CO₂ emissions, we need an enormous expansion of CO₂ extraction methods. A study by CDRterra investigated the scale of this need, how the methods should be developed and the impact of each of the approaches.

I’m Atuhire Barbrah from Wakiso in Uganda
|
The climate protection project in Uganda has given more than a thousand pupils like Atuhire Barbrah access to clean drinking water. The project aims to provide institutions such as schools and health centres with new technologies for drinking water treatment. The resulting reduced consumption of non-renewable firewood and charcoal not only cuts CO₂ emissions; it also improves the living conditions and health of thousands of schoolchildren at the same time.
